Cecil Cole obtained his block of six acres on Hillview Soldier Settlement – No. 329 – in the County of Cumberland, Parish of St Luke, Parramatta Land District. He received training at Grantham Stud Poultry Farm before taking up the block at Hillview. He had applied first for block 370 at Chipping Norton before going to Hillview. He was allotted this block on 10 May 1920.
