Alfred Docwra obtained his block by transfer from William Glover on 16 May 1923.[1] It consisted of only eight acres, in the County of Cumberland, Parish of Gidley, Metropolitan Land District. Alfred Docwra applied for his Advance on 9 August 1922 and it was approved 2 June 1920.[2] He also acquired the outstanding amount owing from William Glover’s Advance – which amounted to £362.1.10.[3] Docwra effectively made application for an Advance of this amount. It appears however, that as there was ‘a Common Law Mortgage over the Land and the Deeds of Title to the land are in our (RSS Branch) custody, the transaction had not been completed, although Glover had left the property and Docwra was located there’.[4]
By January 1924, the Advance had been repaid in full.
