 James Donald obtained the block No. 311 consisting of six acres, on Hillview Soldier Settlement located in the Countyof Cumberland, Parish of St Luke, Parramatta Land District.   James Donald had previously undertaken training at Grantham Stud Poultry Farm starting there on 19 July 1920.[1]   The Manager of Grantham reported, ‘that during the period he has been in training, he has been most attentive to his duties as well as keenly interested in his work’.[2] Approval was given for him to take up a block at Hillview on 16 September 1920.[3]
