Alexander Falconer’s block was Portion No. 313 on Hillview Soldier Settlement was in the County of Cumberland, Parish of St Luke, Parramatta Land District. Hillview Soldier Settlement comprised 36 blocks (of 8 acres each). Although Alexander stated on his application that he wanted to go to Grantham Soldiers Settlement,[1] he was given the block at Hillview.
Alexander Falconer took up occupation on 7 June 1920. On 24 July 1924, he applied for permission to transfer the property to Adden Alfred Popple, also a returned soldier. His reasons given for transfer were ‘owing to his inability to carry on (because) of war injuries’.[2]
