David Meurant owned several block of land in the Warialda district. One of these was transferred from his father Alfred Alexander Meurant.  This block, to be leased, was not registered initially causing considerable delay in the processing of his advance.[1]

In December 1921, Meurant was advised by A.A. Watson the Director of Soldiers’ Settlements that he must carry out various instructions before he could obtain his advance.  These included: an accurate schedule of the lands affected, eg Portion Number, registration of the lease and a full list of all of his stock including brands as well as a list of all his plant for valuation purposes.[2] These were effectively to be used as security for the Advance.

The file ends in July 1922 with no clear indication that David Meurant obtained his advance.
