Louis Nichols originally took up a Homestead Farm consisting of 831 acres in the Land District of Forbes. He obtained the farm by ballot, ‘the block was watered by a never failing spring’.[1] Initially Nichols was seen as a satisfactory case, but had sold the property by May 1924.[2]
