Philip O’Conor took up Block A, on Cowan’s (3) Estate. The property which he called Yamin Park was near Manilla, in the County of Darling Parish of Dowe, Tamworth Land District.[1]  He applied for his Advance on 7 November 1921.[2] On 6 February 1922, he wrote asking why there was a delay in receiving it. The delay was causing him ‘much worry and uneasiness.’[3]  It is not known when his advance was eventually approved.

Inspector Garland when writing to the District Surveyor at Tamworth on 18 December 1923, acknowledged that there was no water on the holding nor was there water in the bore.[4]  Garland recommended that a new bore be put down in the vicinity of the windmill.

In March 1924, it was acknowledged by the Returned Soldiers’ Settlement Branch that because of the unsatisfactory water supply, O’Conor was watering his stock on an adjoining block.[5]  At this date the District Surveyor recommended an extension of time to pay the arrears owing.

On 28 August, 1925, O’Conor wrote stating that he ‘had been unfortunate enough to sink a bore without results’.[6] By March 1929, O’Conor had sold his holding.[7]
