James Shipman applied for a block at Hillview on 14 July1918.[1] He was allocated Block No. 321 at Hillview Soldier Settlement which was in the County of Cumberland, Parish of St Luke, Parramatta Land District and consisted of 5 acres. He requested training at Grantham Stud Poultry Farm before going to Hillview.[2]
His group purchase was confirmed 22 September 1923.
